Members of the public, including
are able to access and use the integrated collections in Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie while staff are on duty. The working collections, the D.M. Chambers Library and the Supreme Court Library, are not accessible to members of the public.
Members of the public can contact the Supreme Court library using the Request for Judgment/Sentence form if they require copies of judgments, sentences or information about the Court.
Members of the public are not eligible to borrow items from the collections. A photocopier is available. Charges apply.
In some instances we make materials available to members of the public through inter-library loan to the State Library of Tasmania or one of its branches. Refer to the library staff on duty.
Library staff provide limited assistance to members of the public. They can assist in locating materials within the collection, or provide directions to other organisations or facilities. Library staff cannot provide legal advice.
Members of the public may not use the library PCs (however staff may access electronic resources on their behalf).
The State Library of Tasmania and its branches provide free internet access to the public.
