Reported cases, that is, cases as published in a series of reports, such as the Tasmanian Reports (Tas R), are usually only available on the internet BY PAID SUBSCRIPTION. Such sites include those of the major legal publishers, LexisNexis (Butterworths) , Thomson (LBC) and CCH.
The integrated libraries subscribe to some of the online titles available from these publishers.
BUT, the unreported versions of the decisions of many courts and tribunals (which can later be reported as described above) are available FREE on the internet.
Citations for unreported decisions, as available on the internet, are often confused with those for reported cases. Citations for unreported decisions now follow the Australian standard set out by the Legal Information Standards Council for medium neutral citation.
TASSC 99 (from Supreme Court of Tasmania)
NSWLEC 140 (from NSW Land and Environment Court)
List of Medium Neutral Citations (from Macquarie University, Tasmanian citations incomplete)....
